Specific events 2010 Social Thinking Across the Home and School Day - In this two day workshop, Michelle Garcia Winner will present: "The I LAUGH Model of Social Cognition" on Thursday and "Thinking About You, Thinking About Me" on Friday. - Holyoke,MA - May 13-14, 2010 The Collaborative Problem Solving Approach - Level 1 Advanced Training - Ross Greene, Ph.D. provides advanced trainings every summer for mental health professionals and educators seeking more intensive training in the CPS model. The Level I advanced training provides participants with in-depth coverage of key facets of the CPS model, with coverage of and practice in specific aspects of implementation in school and clinical settings - Portland, ME - July 7-9, 2010 Diagnosis and Remediation of Learning Problems in Mathematics - Mahesh Sharma - This 5-day interactive course will provide teachers with a solid understanding of how children learn mathematics, what causes learning problems in mathematics, how to diagnose these learning problems, how to develop a plan for remediation, and how to teach milestones of mathematics content (number conceptualization, place value, fractions, integers, algebraic thinking and spatial sense). Teachers who attend will work directly with students in a diagnostic and prescriptive manner and will be able to immediately implement strategies and techniques learned. Course fee: $900 (includes materials). Graduate credits available through Endicott College for additional $150. Register by June 1st for $25 discount. Register early as space is limited. - Bedford, NH - July 12-16, 2010 The Collaborative Problem Solving Approach - Level 2 Advanced Training - Ross Greene, Ph.D. - For educators and mental health clinicians who have attended a prior Level I training (or who have attended a prior Level II training and want to stay current on model updates), this training is “the next step” in skill and knowledge enhancement. Training on key facets of the CPS model is facilitated by extensive use of videotaped (and, when possible, live) cases and role-plays, and the training is conducted in a manner that facilitates practice of key skills. The Coordinating Group is made up of individuals from the state, local and community levels across NH who are passionate about transition and come together to share resources, problem solve barriers and issues, and work together to improve transition services and supports for NH youth using the community of practice strategy.
